Mitch Albom Response
Mitch Albom's point is to show that the statement of Soledad O'Brien about race being a factor in the public criticism was unnecessary. I have to agree to with Mitch Albom because i don't think it was necessary for a news reporter to bring up the racial factor in this situation. Basketball is a predominately African American sport. Race isn't much of a benefactor in this sport. Mitch's most effective point comes in when he talks about LeBron's egotism. According to Mitch, "ego knows no color." When LeBron doesn't give a complete answer on television and says "I'm gonna take my talents to South Beach" -- suggesting that it was 1) more about his talent than anything and 2) time to get set for a party, because South Beach is not where the Heat plays, but it is open all night," it shows a perfect example of LeBron's ego and this is Mitch's most effective point.
